Feb. 2 through April 13: AARP Free Tax Preperation at four locations on Maui

Tis the season to file your taxes and AARP Foundation’s Tax Aid Program is here to help! The program will offer free tax preparation assistance and e-filing of returns to low to moderate income wage earners. Help will be available through April 13 in Kahului, Lahaina, Kihei and Paia. Taxpayers must not have rental income, 10 or fewer stock sales and business expenses of $5,000 or lower and show a profit. Other restrictions may apply. Please bring a photo ID, Social Security card for all family members, current tax documents, 2011 federal and state returns, a voided check for direct deposit of refund and your spouse if filing jointly. The Paia location will be open 2/6, 2/13, 2/27, 3/6, 3/13, 3/27, 4/3 and 4/10 at Kaunoa Senior Center (401 Alakapa Pl, Paia) from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. By Appointment Only – Call 808-270-7308. Lahaina location will be open Feb. 5, Feb. 19, Mar. 5, Mar. 19 and April 2 at West Maui Senior Center (788 Pauoa St., Lahaina) from 9am to 12pm by appointment only (call 808-661-9432). The Kihei location will be open Feb. 11, Feb. 25, Mar. 11, Mar. 25 and April 8 at Kihei Community Center (303 Lipoa St., Kihei) from  9am to 12pm on a first come, first served basis. The Kahului location will be open Feb. 2, Feb. 9, Feb. 16, Feb. 23, Mar. 2, Mar. 9, Mar. 16, Mar. 23, April 6 and April 13 at the Kahului Union Church (101 W. Kamehameha Ave.). Rooms 11, 12 and 13 are open from 9am to 12pm on a first come, first served basis (Please do not call the church for information).
