The Sustainable Living Institute of Maui  and Upcountry Sustainability are hosting an evening with Doug Fine. An investigative journalist, author and solar-powered New Mexican goat herder, Fine will share his struggles and victories in his mission to eliminate 90 percent of petroleum use from his life. The entertaining Q&A strives to create a comic atmosphere while bringing to light a serious environmental issue. Whether its how his goats outsmart him, being electrocuted by his solar panels or getting the munchies from the exhaust of his vegetable truck, Fine’s approach make sustainable living easy to digest for all. As a reporter for the Washington Post, The New York Times, US News & World Report and the author of three books, Fine’s wealth of knowledge has benefited audiences nationwide. Free. 5:30pm-7pm.
