Now 100 years old, Maui Friends of the Library will celebrate the official grand opening of its third used bookstore at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center. MFOTL opened the 900 sq. ft store in November and has now stocked it with over 12,000 books. The store has a large collection of fiction, non-fiction, new and old Hawaiiana and a separate children and young adults section. And it was all done by volunteers. Mayor Alan Arakawa will perform a ceremonial ribbon cutting, the Isle of Man Pipe band will make an appearance and there will be sliders from Ruby’s to eat. 10am-3pm. Queen Ka’ahumanu Center (275 W Ka’ahumanu Ave., Kahului); 808-871-6563, Users.maui.net/~mfol/
