Toubab Krewe echoes African greats like Ali Farka Toure and Orchestra Baobab. Their extensive traveling and heavy gig load has contributed greatly to their innovative blend of rock rhythm, international folk strains and African traditions. Whether they’re headliners at their hometown’s famous Orange Peel or appearing in the Desert Festival in Mali, their music reflects the miles traveled and journey to call their sound their own. $28-$38. 7:30pm. Maui Arts and Cultural Center, Yokouchi Pavilion Courtyard (One Cameron Way, Kahului); 808-244-7469, mauiarts.org
