Seabury Hall’s Philosophy Club is one of this island’s intellectual and cultural gems. Over the years I’ve attended some of the club’s First Wednesday panel discussions on land development, religion, marketing, journalistic ethics (of which I was graciously invited to participate) and other matters normally reserved for the pages of The New York Times Magazine or other such journal. Anyway, this Wednesday the students will discuss “Messianic Hope” and will host a panel that “will include philosophers, theologians, and practitioners for some of the world’s major religions.” As always, attendance is FREE. 7pm. Seabury Hall’s A’aliikuhonua Creative Arts Center (480 Olinda Rd., Makawao).
