Who will you make peace with? In conjunction with the global effort Peace One Day, Maui based organizations invite you to gather in the name of peace Saturday, September 21st at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Imua Family Services, The County of Maui, MauiTime, Akaku, Will Smith Foundation, Mana’o Radio, Maui Film Festival, Joy Fields and Toni Ong Graphics present Peace Day Maui 2013.
Peace One Day has a powerful message, a call to action to cease fire, to stop violence in your community and beyond. We are excited to make this a local effort, joining hundreds of events happening world wide on September 21st. Decide what peace means to you as an individual, and as a citizen of the world. Take a moment to pledge to honor peace on September 21, and join this fun and spirited FREE event at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.
The evening will open with a pre-show titled “Teens for Peace,” a friendly youth vocal competition led by Joy Fields of “Maui Teens got Talent.” Following will be a screening of Eric Saperston’s The Journey introduced by Saperston himself. The Journey explores Saperston’s quest to answer some of life’s biggest questions and his encounter with various people from all walks of life. His findings may not be what you think.
